21 Weeks..

Adam is finally doing better! His cold is gone, he is drinking his bottles (sometimes) and, with the help of a little miralax, he is pooping. Now we just need to get him to sleep! He is getting up 4 or 5 times a night and up by 6:15am. Within a few weeks, we will do some sleep training with him to stop this behavior. Now that we are both working, it is too much getting up all those times. We want to wait until 6 months so we can just stop the night feedings all together since he is still eating somewhere between 4 and 5am.
Last week at the doctor he weighed 18lbs 2oz. We were checking his manly parts since it appears he may need to be re-circumsized. We won't decide until he is older, but for now there is just some extra maintenance to do.
Our new nanny is easing in well and seems to be doing great. The kids are adjusting to her and we haven't scared her off yet.
Some baby fun.

Some talking.......

Poor Adam

He is having a rough week. First we switched him to formula. Formula is gross and makes a baby constipated and spitty. He is getting used to it slowly, but we are still struggling a bit. Then he got a cold, poor guy. He is coughing and runny which is very sad to see on a little one. We are hoping he gets better quickly since I am returning to work this week. Our new nanny (Jeanna) starts tomorrow. We think she will be great, but it will take everyone some time to get used to the new schedule.
Adam still loves his tub, even if he is sick.

Layla and Hannah enjoyed wearing their halloween costumes this past week. Whatever makes them happy :)
Hannah also enjoyed her visit with aunt Shelly and Lucy the puppy Friday night. She loves doggies.

It is very sad for me to be leaving my kids. I will miss them a ton and know they will miss me. I will update more as we all settle in.

Sweet babies

Aren't sleeping kids the best? I usually don't get to see my kids sleep, but I caught each of them this past week for one reason or another. Hannah fell asleep in her playroom. She gets up before 6 somedays and goes to watch TV. I got Adam just to complete the trio. I can take a picture of him anytime.

Layla has had a terrible cold and we needed to wake her after almost 4 hours in her bed. I snuck a picture first.

Adam is finally feeling a little better and is actually sleeping until 4:30 or so. It is wonderful. We have started him on some cereal and he loves it! We are also getting ready to move him to formula. By the end of the week he will be completely on bottles and over to the formula the week after that. It is tougher for me than him I think, but it is for the best. I am returning to work and it is just hard to keep nursing while working. I am not the most laid back person I know and I don't need any additional stress. I also miss coffee and pizza! I am looking forward to some deep dish and some starbucks (maybe at the same time!). Adam will be fine and will continue to grow and thrive. I too will be fine, but will miss nursing him. Oh well - moving on :)

surgery done

These were the pants they gave us for him :) Yeah right! Look they are longer than me!
Baby Jail.

The surgery went ok and we were home by 9am. Adam was very cranky and sleepy yesterday. He did ok overnight, but was up by 6am and is still pretty cranky today. His ears may be popping and that is uncomfortable. Once they adjust, he will be ok.
Now we are excited to start working on getting this baby to sleep better!

4 month checkup

Adam weighed in at 17lbs 2 oz (90%) and is 26 1/4 inches (90%). His peanut head is 42.7 cm (50%). He is following his growth curve perfectly so all is well. His development is fine and we are free to start chunky monkey on some food as soon as his ears are all healed and not infected anymore. We will wait until we get the all clear from the ENT to make sure we know if he is tolerating the food ok. We go in at 6am for his surgery tomorrow so we are getting nervous about that, but also excited for the relief it will bring Adam.
