Dinner for 14?

We haven't seen some of our dear friends in too long, so we decided to invite everyone over for dinner today. Together we (3 couples) have 8 children ages 6,5,4,3,2,2,1 and 3 months. Now you understand why we don't get together enough! The evening went really well and although there were some tears, there were no injuries and everyone left happy.
We started off with some Elefun. You can see my girls dressed for a par-tay. Hannah in her Christmas dress and Layla in her gymnastics outfit.
And after dinner of delicious Fortel's Pizza, we decorated cookies.
Yes - My girls had a wardrobe change into their new Disney nightgowns. Doesn't everyone wear nightgowns to a dinner party? And after sugar cookies covered in sugar frosting and colored sugar sprinkles - we gave them suckers. Smart!Layla waited patiently all night to hold this baby. She was in heaven. And here is the gang (minus tiny baby Clara). She'll be in there soon enough.

Thanks for coming guys - it was fun!

Super Cute Tub Time.

I often play a game with the girls that involves them making the emotion face that I name. Hannah mastered this game years ago and loves it, and Layla is getting quite good. Coupled with the fact that she can cry or puke on command; I think she could be a little actress.

and yes - the game is nearly always played out in the tub. That is where the game originated and there is has stayed. It knocks the socks off your typical tub toy and there is no splashing involved.

Mad Face.Surprised Face.
Sad Face.
Excited Face.
Thinking Face.
Happy Face.
Sweet Face.
and there you have it - Super Duper Cute Tub Time.

There is no better time....

to let your baby enjoy some quality naked time, than right after
he pees on the freshly cleaned

bathroom rug.

And he might as well make some phone calls while he is doing it.

Random great baby pictures.

Here are some random pictures of our little man we took over the last few weeks.

Gooing out - watchin Baby Einstein.
Wearing a hat and eating a popsicle.
Escaped to the fireplace with the stolen juice box.

Playing pattycake with mom.
'Bewaxing" with dad on tiny couches.
Think he knows he is cute?

Chillin on the couch.
Being Silly.

And cute.
We realize through these pictures that Adam might need a haircut, but we aren't ready.

Checkups.

Hannah had her 5 year checkup, Adam had his 15 month checkup and Layla got caught up on her vaccines a couple weeks ago. Having our family of 5 in the doctors office together was a trip. Of course we waited in the tiny room for 30 minutes (someone mis-set our flags so the dr. thought we weren't ready). We had 3 trips to the potty (one for Hannah to pee in a cup) and lots of climbing and craziness.
Hannah is doing well and is 44.5 inches tall (90%) and 39 lbs (25%). We have to have her vision tested to register for kindergarden, but we know she sees very well. She technically doesn't have to go back to the dr until she is 7! Yes - the girls were cuddling on the table. It was a fun game to play after we exhausted everything else in the timy room.

Adam is also well. He is 32.5 inches tall (90%) and 25 lbs (50%). He is talking so much now! He says new words everyday and just surprises us with what he knows. He got his sucker before his shots since he was such a good sport .

Layla and Hannah didn't even flinch when they got their shots. It was a stressful, but successful trip. I will not schedule them all at the same time ever again!

Christmas!

Well here is the long awaited Christmas post! We had a great Christmas starting with our Christmas Eve festivities at aunt Carolyn's. The kids looked very sweet and were well behaved for the event.

After they were sound asleep, Santa himself came! He left a moderate amount of presents under our tree.

We got Layla up at 7am to start the good times. Hannah had been up since 5:30 so we waited as long as we could.
Grandma and Papa were there to see the kids open presents as they have been every year.

The girls really enjoyed it this year which was fun.

Layla got her Tinkerbell which is all she asked Santa for.
They also got super cute nightgowns from disney.

Adam tore into a few things before loosing interest.

Hannah loved each one of her gifts. It was very sweet.

After presents and breakfast everyone needed some downtime.
Adam loved his new truck.
We changed outfits no less than 10 times.
Adam included...........
During naptime, we were all wiped out and resting.
But the fun started again when the whole family came to our house for Christmas dinner. This is Layla and her cousin Noah.

This is this years attempt at a family Christmas picture. I realized 1.2 way through the evening that I forgot to get dressed.
Adam and his Grandma.
Layla and her Grandma.
Hannah and her Grandma.

Happy baby.

We had a good night and all went to bed early.
The next day Hannah and I got the stomach flu which was not ideal, but we survived and were better by Monday. We were covered in new toys for a few days, but somehow they have all found a home in one of our two playrooms.
