Our Week.

Hannah had a super fun birthday party to go to last weekend. It was at the indoor carousel at Faust park and it was way fun. The kids got to ride for as long as they wanted (and they did!) I got Hannah off for about 15 minutes to hand feed her a hot dog and get her to sing and have cake. Hannah is still much taller than most kids in her class.

She did get a super cool set of balloon wings that we all got to enjoy.

Matt often has to take work calls at home. He tends to walk or pace while he is on the phone and I caught this cute image of the girls following him. They were repeating him saying things I know make no sense to them. It was hysterical.

We got to spend an evening or two on our deck this week. We can't use our backyard because it is a swamp, but the deck is safe. Our little man is getting so big. He is looking and acting much older lately. Adam is talking more and more these days. He puts 2 words together and gets his point across very well. He is not that interested in speaking on command, but I did get a couple short videos.

And here is the last video of what our typical evening consists of when we can't go outside.

Really cute videos - March 10

The Haircut.

It was time. We realized today that is was possible we were being selfish in not giving our youngest child a haircut. His hair was in fact NOT bothering OUR eyes, but it was bothering his. So we set out to get Adam his first haircut. He was pretty stoic about the whole thing which is about how we felt. My biggest fear was that his curls were going to magically disappear once we trimmed them.
We distracted him with a sucker and he was pretty oblivious to the whole process.

Except when his arm (with sucker) got stuck under the cape.

Easily rectified.

As you can see, his curls are still as cute as ever, just a little shorter and closer to his head.
and his hair is our of his eyes.
whewww.

Rarely used

The girls found this little gem stuffed under my bed. It is a rarely used, in mint condition ironing board from around 2001. I just don't iron much which is why my girls had no idea what it was. It became a sled, a surf board and a balance beam today. That's more action than it has ever seen!

Chicago for a day

We took the girls for a quick trip to Chicago to see my nephew baptized. My girls were awesome and with the exception of not sleeping well, were pretty perfect the whole trip. They were quiet in church except when Layla announced she had to potty. It was a private ceremony so not too embarrasing.

We went straight to the after party where the little girls lasted about an hour.
We were well past naptime now and they were just too tired to hang.

Uncle Matt took them back to rest while we stayed and mingled. We stayed the night and Layla slept pretty well, but miss Hannah was up almost all night. She just could not sleep well. In the morning we had a bit more playtime and then we were off. We needed to get back to our little man, but not before Layla got to hold the baby.
This summer we will get all 5 kids together for some playtime. It's going to be some fun years!
