for my record

More for my record than for the enjoyment of my five readers, here is what is going on at our house.

Adam is getting so big. He is eating all regular food now and won't tolerate more than a bite of baby food except to take his prevacid. He goes to bed at 7 and wakes up at 6ish. Lately this has been 5, but we are hoping it's just a tooth. He takes two naps of an hour each. He is cruising furniture and loves to climb. Little menace likes to bother his sisters and much to their dismay, he can get to them wherever they are.
Layla goes to bed at 7:30 and wakes up at 7:30. She naps for 2 hours. She is very loud! Maybe she has hearing loss from so many infections? or Maybe she is just loud. She loves to be rocked still and have attention from mommy. She rides a bike and can jump, throw and kick like a much older kid. She is getting skinny despite being a good eater so it is just her time to thin down. She is a sweet sweet baby.
Hannah goes to bed at 8 and wakes at 6. She doesn't nap most days, but falls asleep in the car in the afternoon if we are out and about. She makes friends easily and is a born leader. She is smart and witty. She loves to play pretend games.
Matt and I take turns sleeping in until 7:30 or 8 on the weekends. We LOVE our sleep in days. We try to keep the kids quiet until the other wakes up. It's a challenge, but we do pretty good. During the week, we always take the time to play, swing, and take walks as a family. Our nights are busy, but we really enjoy spending those hours together. When Matt travels, I still take a nightly walk with the kids. When it gets cold or raining, we will use that time to play in the basement or make forts out of blankets. Kids love forts!

The little ones get a bath every night and Hannah gets in most days (every other at the minimum). My kids love going to bed so bedtime is rarely a struggle. They tell me when it is time for bed usually.
Everyone is healthy right now and has been for a long time (knock on wood). We are hoping for a healthy winter.
We have a busy couple of months ahead with lots of exciting outings. This should make for some great blog posts!

Cuteness

The girls were very good for their haircuts this weekend. They both started new classrooms at school too which went ok. Hannah is in the Jr. Kindergarden and loving it, Layla is in ABC pre-school class. They are playing together more these days and Hannah is taking her role as leader very seriously.
They were dancing fools while they waited for their turn. They were playing sleeping beauty music.
The girls have decided that Adam is a menace and are trying to construct walls to keep him out of their play area. You can imagine how detoured he was. Those couches are no obsticle for this boy.

He does love destroying things so this kitchen is perfect. We clean it up and he tears it apart. Fun for all.

Yay Adam.

Adam is always willing to flas that grin for the camera. Here he is (he has no idea I'm taking a video) and evertime he looks at the camera he grins for me. It's dark because it is bedtime.

Adam has adapted a modified crawl this week. We aren't sure if he knee hurts or if he just is faster this way - always prepared to stand. Either way - it doesn't bother him and he is FAST.

Missing......

I've been very lax about the blog lately. We had some very fun adult events lately, so I have not made time to take a ton of pictures of the kids. Here are some of my favorite from the last week.

My sweet boy is always willing to do a photo shoot for mommy.

and here he is when he found the dog crate at Grandma's.

Our quick family picture for the girls school. It was taken after we swam for 4 hours and were all tired and a mess. Turns out it is our best family picture yet!

and here is one of Layla at a birthday party on Sunday. She loved it when we all sang happy birthday.

The Seriousness of an Oreo

Adam was having a rough night on Tuesday.
So I gave him an Oreo. It was so funny to watch how serious he was about his cookie.
and he was pretty cute with his cookie face on for the rest of the evening. I was not going to try and wipe it off - that could have led to a repeat of the first picture. Here is is from tonight - just being his happy baby self. You can see his bottom 3 teeth here.

And the top 4 here. That's all of 'em - 7.

Adam at 10 months.

Adam is 10 months old! He is eating mostly table food now except fruit which he still enjoys in the baby variety. He eats peas, green beans, turkey dogs, eggs, toast, bagel, noodles and french toast. He will drink little bits from his cup or Layla's cup.
Teeth # 7 & 8 are on their way in this week making him pretty much the crankiest baby on earth. He is very uncomfortable even with motrin on board, so we hope it is over soon. Teeth come with runny noses and general misery.
In general (this weekend excluded) he is a happy guy. He sleeps from about 7pm until 6:30am. He takes 2 naps of about an hour each. He is a standing machine. He loves to pull up on the couch, tables and toys. He falls 20-50 times a day though, so that is hard to watch. He also loves the challenge of climbing over things which he is very good at. Here is a short action shot of him playing. I don't know why my girls are not wearing shirts, so don't ask :)
