PreSchool Graduation is just cute.

We went out to dinner for Hannah's graduation. It was great. We left Adam at home since it was bedtime for him.

Layla was being super cute at dinner. Her cuteness wore out about 1/2 way through the graduation, but she is pretty little.

Hannah had a great night and loved being the center of attention at dinner.
Aunt Shelly joined us for the big night. Thank goodness because someone had to man the screaming Layla mid-graduation.
Hannah and her daddy looking so cute.
Hannah and Mom.
Standing on stage. Hannah was so brave. She said she had stage fright, but she blew it away. (Hannah is in blue, and I'm super glad she is not the nose pick kid)

Getting her diploma. She practically ran there and back, so this is the best we got.Hannah and her best bud Caitlin.

A special necklace from Grandma and Papa.

That's it. I do have 3 minutes of super cuteness with all the kids singing "Kindergarden Rock and Roll", but it would be December before it uploaded here. Believe me - it was cute.

Busy Awesome Weekend

We started our sunny weekend off by loading the kids in the car bright and early. We went to the zoo! It was a beautiful morning. We got there at 8:15 (zoo officially opened at 9) and they let us and 100 other people right in. We saw Elephants.
We saw all the bears for a change. They are usually sleeping, but not this weekend. Lots of bear activity was observed.

We took pictures.

We watched flamingos while we waited for the carousel to open.

Then we rode twice for good measure.

We choo-chooed around the zoo for bit and went to the childrens' zoo. It got a little harry in there so no pictures were taken, but luckily we found all of our children and got the heck out of there.

Then we walked around for a while.
Even though the line was long, we went to the sting ray exhibit. It was well worth it. We petted lots and lots of sting rays. Hannah (who is my animal lover) just ate it up and cried when we had to leave. We were home in time for lunch and naps which was perfect.

In the afternoon, we brought out the sprinkler and bubble machine to the front yard.

Adam was surprised that the water was cold. But he got used to it.

The girls played and played. They love the sprinkler, especially with dad.

Layla was SO EXCITED! If you were anywhere in our neighborhood, you would have heard her yell it over and over.
Hannah loved her time to play with daddy.
Adam just loved being out and having the freedom to run and splash in puddles.

Layla was so fun. She is such a happy girl.
Happy guy. Unlimited bubbles go a long way with kids.
Then today we all packed up again and headed to Grandma and Papa's for some swimming.
Adam was hesitant and just wanted to be held, but enjoyed it more after his nap.

Hannah swam for 4 hours. She is a fishy and jumped in over and over again. She just loves the water.
She is a little sunburnt even though we applied sunscrean 4 times.
Adam took a snack break with his Grandma.
Then Layla took a break with her Grandma when she got up from her nap.
Layla did a great job swimming today. She was much more comfortable and enjoyed floating around in her armies and ring.
We wrapped up our weekend with some ice cream and happy playtime.
I think Adam enjoyed his chocolate ice cream. He was mad when it was gone.

It was a really good weekend! Next weekend we have a trip, visitors, a birthday and a holiday. It's going to be awesome.

Rain Rain Go Away!

It has been raining for 7 straight days and we are tired of it! I don't know about your kids, but mine get crazy when they are stuck inside for this long.
We made the most of our weekend inside with lots of dancing and playing. We did venture to the mall on Saturday afternoon which was a big mistake. Everyone in the county decided to drop their annoying 12 year olds off at the mall for the day. This is completely unacceptable. Then to top it off my three decided to take the opportunity to misbehave and generally be terrible. We came home.

In other news:

Layla found her "L"s this week so we are enjoying listening to her talk in her new big girl voice. It is kind of sad to see her last babyness slip away. She is getting so pretty and starting to outgrow her terrible two's. She has been so sweet and fun lately.

Miss Hannah is graduating from Preschool next week She is very excited and so are we. She is such a little lady now.

Adam got a big boy haircut. His hair is out of control! It is super cute and his curls are holding strong. He has started throwing giant fits and hitting which is also fun. He had his first "time out" in his crib, but he was really good about it and stopped hitting which was nice.

The kids decided to do some exercise tonight - it was awesome.

Hopefully it stops raining so they can burn off some energy outside!

It's really hard

Layla just came out, laid her head on my lap and told me
"It's really hard having a brother. Especially when you have a boo boo on your knee."

Life is tough when you're two.

Not great pictures, but a funny story

I don't have great pictures to share from this week. My camera and I aren't exactly getting along lately. It could be that I called it a POS right in front of it, but the actual picture doesn't take for about 17 seconds after you press the button. I think I'm due for a new camera!

Anyway we had a good Mothers' day here. I made cake batter and let the kids eat it (and may have indulged a little myself). We played and went to Home Depot. Kids love Home Depot.
We had dinner with Grandma and Papa here at the house (take out Bandanas) and then went for a long walk.
Here is where it gets funny. We were walking along in our picturesque subdivision when I look up and see Layla with her pants down around her ankles on the sidewalk. Matt ran up to her and asked her what was wrong when she told us she needed to Poop! Apparently she was going to just take a squat right on the sidewalk like a dog. I will have to try and do better teaching my kids about what is and is not appropriate. For today I just stood there laughing so hard I cried. Matt ran her home to use the toilet. It all worked out.

We overall had a nice day.

Happy Happy Weekend

Our basement bathroom got started this past week and we are very excited. The kids will have years of potty happiness in the basement. We kicked off the weekend with a birthday party at the butterfly house. The girls were so cute and played while Adam wandered around the garden. Layla did get bored a while through and loved walking around. She thought it was magical. The weather turned out perfect and we had lots of happy outside time. I had to include this picture of Adam being mad because he wants the camera. And then the beast of a baby taking it from me.
He was happy again and took a few pictures, but they were no good :)

Adam then decided it was high time someone mow the yard. Dad was mowing out front, so he tackled the job.
Everyone took a popsicle break. It was a very relaxing Saturday.
They had a great nutritious start to Sunday with cookies for breakfast. I was trying to keep them quiet while Matt slept. It worked for about a minute.
Hannah had a swim party for a friend which was super fun. She is a little mermaid and I had a hard time getting her out of the pool.

We took a trip to Grandma's and Papa's and then home to wind down the weekend. It should be a busy couple weeks ahead with the construction going on, but we are looking forward to it being done! We have entered Layla's birthday month and have a lot going on with trips, house guests and parties. Maybe we will relax again in June.
