Birthday Extravaganza Weekend

It was 4 year old birthday party weekend at our house. Our most clever, energetic sweet baby is 4 years old. We had family in town to help us celebrate. Abbey is only 3 weeks younger, so we lumped the parties together and had a blast.

We ordered around 30 balloons for the event.

My nephew Owen is looking scrumptious.

We had a dance and drive party in the basement.

Owen pumped some iron.

The kids drove cars around for hours.

We had a fair amount of wardrobe changes.

The girls got to celebrate together at a swimming party at Grandma's. All they wanted was to swim for their birthday. Luckily it was hot and sunny and Grandma was up for a small, but great birthday bash.

We had a Tinkerbell cake for Layla.

And a Repunzel cake for Abbey.

The kids were so sweet and everyone helped blow out candles.

The birthday girls got to open presents.

Owen even had fun at Grandma's.

We had 2 pinata's full of candy.

And here is our best picture of all 5 cousins. We are getting closer to no one crying and almost everyone looking!

Adam needed in on the Birthday sign picture. His birthday is coming up you know.

We let the kids release the balloons go outside.
They loved it.

Layla trying on her new Ariel gown.

Sweet Birthday girls.

And there was swimming.

Lots of swimming.

We know they had a great time and Layla was very happy with her party and her weekend in the pool. We went back Monday for an all day swimming with family event. My kids swam for over 5 hours. They were exhausted, but what an awesome first weekend of the summer!

Last day of school.

School is out for the summer! Hannah has grown so much over this school year. We hope she is ready to have fun and enjoy her time off. The girls start gymnastics next week and soccer should start next month. This is good, because the only bad score Hannah got was in Gym. The gym teacher would like to see Hannah's endurance improve this summer. I'm pretty sure her soccer coaches will be getting tough this year.

Happy summer! It's Layla's birthday weekend with family in town so it should be a good one.

Proof the kids are still ok.

So here are the kids during the throws of rotovirus. There was a lot of laying around done by everyone except me. Notice the relative giant that is my six year old.

Just a little post sickness party.

Sass.

Heartbreaker.

Rotovirus strikes again.

The rotovirus attacked my house again. We are running solid at about once per year. Layla got the worst of it and earned a trip to the ER on Friday for IV fluids. After the IV was in and her arm was secured and covered, Layla was MAD. She told me to get off her bed, don't touch her and don't even look at her. She layed there and watched TV for the 1.5 hours while she got her fluids and anti-nausea meds. She was all hugs and kisses after a while and we were home by 9:30.

Adam and Hannah started with the fever this Monday (so a full week apart) and Matt got sick Saturday. Hopefully we got that all out of our system for the year.

In other news, our playroom floor is colored blue and red marker. That is a nice change inspired by Adam.

Hannah's last week of school is next week. It makes me a little sad to have kindergarten be over. Hannah is sad too. More pictures soon...

May 2011 so far

We joined a local transportation museum this year to try it out. There are a lot of old trains to walk through and hang out in. They have a small train to ride and some boats and airplanes. Overall, we think our crew is too young to be interested, but they seemed to have a good time. It is better than being at home.

Hannah changed her earings for the first time last weekend. She was not happy with the earing changing process. Maybe in a few weeks we will try again. She has never had an infection or any issues with her piercings so she is very lucky.
Adam treated us to a concert. He loves to perform.

After a night with Grandma and a busy morning, Layla finally took a nap on her dad. She hasn't napped in weeks, but needed that snooze. She slept for about a half hour before we tried to start waking her up and it was a good hour before we got her totally awake.

Three more weeks of school and then they will all be home for the summer.
