Christmas 2009

What Christmas holiday would be complete without the stomach flu?

Not ours!

It is going 'round the house and we are down to Adam (we think). We are hoping the bug Layla had a week ago was the start of this and not a different event.

Our Christmas was still great and no one was actually sick ON Christmas (the 24 hours from Midnight to Midnight). The kids got lots of toys and we took lots of pictures. Too bad my computer is in the shop (orange juice catastrophe) and this PC (shhhh - my work PC) won't read my flash card (damn IT people).

Hannah has her first ear infection in a year and a half, so I am home today waiting to take her to the doctor.

I will post the pictures later this week when my PC comes back.

Way too much fun

So Matt and I went away for a much needed adult weekend. We got to meet Owen - our new nephew. He is awesome.

Matt and went on to attend the wedding of a close friend of mine. It was 48 hours of child free entertainment. Sufice it to say we had WAY TOO MUCH FUN!. I am usually against posting anything not about the kids here, but I have no new pictures of the kids and I think these show how much fun we had!
We went to see a friend play on Friday night - it was awesome.
The wedding was beautiful on Saturday morning. I read Shakesphere.........only screwed up once.
Several hours of hot tubs and drinking ensued and then - we danced.......all night long.

ok - so we were staying on the hotel attached to the reception so do not worry - no one drove after this.
The kids are just fine and dont even know we were gone. More pictures after Christmas!

Santa!

We had a really busy weekend here at our house. Hannah had a birthday party which was fun.We found out Adam has enough hair to keep a helium balloon down.

Ant then we got ready for Santa.

We saw him at the Mall. Everyone was soo good. No one cried and the girls smiled - it was great.

Adam was very intrigued. Sunday we went to breakfast with Santa. Adam had a great time!

right until we actually saw Santa. .....Then he was really mad. Apparently he liked the Mall Santa better.
The girls did great - again.....

They are getting more pumped about Christmas now so the 12 days will feel like a long time to them. its going to be awesome!

Happy 5th Birthday Hannah!

My big girl turned 5 yesterday! She had a great birthday starting with pancakes at Grandmas.

When she got home, she found her NEW BIKE in the living room! She got ready for her party and was looking so very sweet!
We got to gymnastics early so the girls and Adam got to play for quite a while in the empty gym.

Layla loves hanging.....
and jumping on a giant tramp.......
They girls all had a little class. It was so cute.

I cracked up at Laylas version of a backbend.

We had the whole gym to ourselves and all the kids had a great time! Even our one and only little 5 year old boy :)
They had a bouncy slide during open gym time.

Which was a huge hit also.

We had cupcakes and presents and it was time to come home.

Hannah got a 2nd party at home with family.
Her Sophia was there so it was a great time.
Everyone went to bed early and slept in this morning! It was a perfect day for my princess. I still hid half of her presents and so far she hasnt noticed. It will be fun to bring them out in the cold winter months.

Thanksgiving and a Birthday (sort of)

My girls were just as sweet as they could be for Thanksgiving.
We went, we ate, we chased the three small ones around - it was a busy day.
Here is Grandma, with her oldest son, her youngest grandson and her newest (and last) nephew. That is a lot of boys.
Adam and Papa playing cards. I am positive they dominated.
Layla holding Ben - technically her 2nd cousin. He was a good sport. He is almost as big as she is! Adam is the baby. He proves this by squashing all other babies. Thank goodness he is our last because I would fear for a new babies safety!

Happy 14 months today to my big guy!
At 14 months, Adam is pretty much doing great. He sleeps from around 7 to around 7 and for an hour in the morning and afternoon still. That will adjust to one nap in the coming months. He eats all regular food including milk, cheese and all things deliciously normal. He gets one bottle at bedtime for a couple more weeks. That one is harder on me than him to give up, so it is really whenever I am ready. He has 12 teeth. If you dare check on that fact - he will happily bite you. He says about 10 words and repeats more each day. He is ALL BOY. Just a climbing, singing, dancing, menace, rough and tumble, happy boy.

Bye Bye Princess Sparkle

and 24 hours later - we are once again kitty free. Turns out Hannah really thought real kitties were like stuffed kitties and you could just carry them around. After being scratched (badly) last night, she decided she does not want a kitty. After Matt and I were up all night with a meowing kitty, we decided we are not pet people. We love our kids. We want the best for our kids. We play, sing, dance, and snuggle with our kids. Thats enough for us.

Moing on..........

Princess Sparkle

Hannah had her last soccer game last week. Soccer season was very long and she is glad to take a break. We are on to Dance starting soon, and we know she will love it. Adam loves to go get his own snacks. He also loves to dump cereal on the floor. Good times.

We have gotten some chances to play outside lately and he loves roaming around.
More cereal action.
Layla is getting so big! I havent gotten a lot of good pictures of her, but she is really becoming much more creative and vocal. Last night she told us a great Goose Story (her version of a ghost story) . It started with Once Upon a Dream.......so sweet.
and finally - this is Priness Sparkle. Hannah picked out her own kitty from the rescue shelter today. It was actually hard because it is not the kitty I would have picked, but we promised she could pick and here she is.She is 12 weeks old and so far is a sweet kitty.
We certainly wore her out quick. She has moved into our unused dining room which works out ok. We hope she is a good quiet sleeper and learns to accept our chaos.
