Easter 2011

If you measure the Easter holiday by the weather, the quality of pictures, or the number of temper tantrums thrown, then this was the worst Easter ever. Our kids got up early, were tired and cranky and disappointed in having to hunt eggs inside. We think they still had a good time, but I'm not going to lie. It was not the best Easter ever.

The kids hunted about 70 eggs (Hannah getting most of them) and then headed in for their baskets. Layla snuck off with a chocolate bunny. She was on a major chocolate high the rest of the day.

Adam got some new cars and loved them.

Adam went down for a nap early
after his sugar crash and we made it to Grandma's in time for lunch.

There was another egg hunt. This year was the first year it was held inside and it was tight. There were 5 hunters and about 150 eggs, so the basement (although larger than my whole house) was crowded.

Layla found herself another chocolate bunny.

Adam was awesome and cute.

Layla's manic behavior earned her a trip home early with mom. We blew bubbles in the driveway and she was happy again.

So Easter was just ok this year. The kids were cute and super tired last night. Back to school tomorrow.

Good Friday. - 2011

We really enjoyed our holiday on Friday with the kids. We started the day with a trip to the dentist. All 3 kids got their teeth cleaned and no one has any cavities. Adam was only scheduled for a lap exam, but followed his sisters and hopped right up on a chair of his own. Great! Good - now we all love the dentist.

After the dentist, we had lunch and naps (all 5 of us) and got ready to color our Easter eggs.

The kids dunked away at the eggs and dropped 2 (so we ate them).

The rain had finally stopped so we went to the park for playtime and a nature walk. It was probably about a half mile, but it was really fun and an adventure for the kids.

We had another 1/2 hour by ourselves at the park.

My kids sure do love to hang!

Overall a great day at our house. Today we are preparing for the arrival of the Easter Bunny! Boy I hope he is magically more prepared than I am.

Keeping the pictures coming

I don't have much to say lately. That's new for me, so we'll see how long it lasts. We have lots of fun events coming up with Easter, field trips, and very soon, Layla's 4th birthday. Right after that, we have a family vacation to the beach. Maybe my thoughts will come back too. This week Matt is on his own while I'm off on a work trip. I do not like to travel unless it is to somewhere warm. I hear it's snowing in Dunkirk, NY - awesome. Friday all 3 kids go to the dentist. That should be fun.

The zoo.

It was a beautiful day to head to the zoo on Saturday. We packed up early and had a good time. We realized this time that Adam and Layla don't love the zoo. They wanted to be carried or ride in the stroller. Hannah had a really good zoo day. She enjoys all the animals and is starting to read the signs herself.
