First Day of School

Hannah's first day of kindergarden was yesterday and she did great. She was so excited and not at all scared. We all took her to her bus stop and she hopped right on. Matt and I had to grab her to even get a kiss.

She had a great day. She loves the adventure of school and the independence it gives her. Her second day was just as good so it looks like it is going to be an awesome year.

Weekend Update Part 1 - Adam

This was our first weekend ever with just Adam and it was awesome. He enjoyed having all of our attention and we enjoyed his cute little toddler boyness. Here we are enjoying the Cardinals game in our jammies. Bliss.




Saturday morning we packed up early and headed to the City Garden. It was pure freedom for Adam to just wander where he wanted and we followed like puppies (with a crappy camera).

Adam thought this kid was nuts. Very Funny.

We played. We climbed.

We walked up and down this hill.

We were looking adorable.

And then when it started getting crowded, we headed home.

Later that afternoon, we packed it up again (see how mobile we are with one kid?) and went to the Chesterfield pool. Two adults, one kid. Nice.

I brought toys which were a big hit and we ended up staying almost 2 hours which is a family record.

We slid.

We splashed.

We swam.

It was a good time.

Sunday I took Adam to the park in the early early hours (when most people are sleeping).

We tunneled.

We peeked.

We climbed.

We braved the mighty bridge. The dimple helped us get across; I'm sure of it.

After the park we went to Walmart, but have spared you any pictures of that adventure. That's for another blog.

And after all that fun we watched some tv.

We love our Adam.

Computer down

That's right - my computer took a turn for the worse and didn't make it through the night. Right now I am just hoping the geek squad were able to save my pictures and movie clips. I won't know for sure until I get it back (with new hard drive). Here's to hoping...

In other pictureless news, the kids had a great weekend. The girls had a fabulous time in Branson and Adam enjoyed all of his attention. Pictures of Adam's weekend are safely stored on my crappy camera and will be shared soon.

I think technology is ganging up on me and trying to drive me insane with all of it's crazy crappiness.

Hot

We have been hanging out in the house a lot lately since it has been so hot. The kids are handling it ok and we are challenged to find new things for them to do. It is good for all of us to get a little more creative. Adam has discovered a love of pots and pans. He enjoys cooking us yummy air.







We have enjoyed our blow up pool quite a bit. The middle ring is deflated, but for a $9 pool it was a great investment. They don't really play in the pool as much as take the water out of it and put it other places. They do love and fight over the hose. A hose is magical when you are little. We all end up a little wet, but with this heat, no one really minds.

We let the kids draw on the basement floor today. We are going to finish this area soon so now is the time to draw. Hannah created a city with streets and locations. Layla drew "people" (large blobs) and Adam just scribbled. They had fun though and that's all that matters.

We moved drawing fun to the tub too. I saved these tub crayons for emergency use only and today seemed to be that day. I do not love the multi colored grout that I am left with, but then again who ever sees my grout? And if someone saw my grout, would they care that it is no longer white?

The girls are headed to Branson this weekend with their grandparents so we will get a weekend alone with Adam. I think he will really enjoy it and let's face it - one kid is easy. It should be a fun time for all.
